Just a reminder – All cell phones must BE OFF and NOT VISIBLE during the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:40 p.m. Students use of cell phones during this time will result in Saturday School.

Varsity players will be checking out today at 3:00pm.

Junior Class Ring orders will be taken on Wednesday September 8th during lunch and after school until 6:30pm in the gym Lobby and Thursday September 9th during lunch and after school until 6:30pm in the gym lobby. Don’t forget your order form and deposit.

The school is looking for announcers for the new season of Hornet football. Games are broadcast over Roswell cable, and also streamed live on the internet to the world. Auditions will be held next Tuesday after school in Room AA21. If you have questions see Mr. Scott in AA21.

Have you always wanted to see what it’s like to be a DJ on a radio station? Well, now is your chance. The WRHS The Hive is having their first meeting next Wednesday at 8:00am in Room AA21. If you are interested please come and join us.

School picture retakes will be October 14th. This will also be the last call for seniors that have not had their senior picture made by Studio 7 and would like to be in the yearbook. If you would like to have your Senior Portrait taken you need to contact Studio 7 at 770-685-7391.

Our Open House for parents has been moved to September 27th at 6:30 pm. This was originally planned for September 2nd. This is a great opportunity for parents to follow your student’s schedule and spend time in their class with the teacher.

Attention Juniors and Seniors: Several colleges have scheduled visits to Roswell this semester. These visits are a great opportunity for interested students to learn more about prospective colleges.
• Representatives from Mercer University and Samford University will be at Roswell next week. Juniors and Seniors interested in learning more about these schools should sign up in the Guidance Office. Students must sign up by Friday, September 3rd for Mercer and by Wednesday, September 8th for the Samford visit.
• On Thursday, September 9th Georgia Gwinnett College will be available during lunch in the cafeteria to speak with interested students.

Beta Club invites all academically eligible Sophomores and Juniors to apply for membership. To be eligible you must have a GPA of 88 or higher. Stop by the Beta table at the Club Fair today to pick up your application.

Not sure if you should take the SAT or ACT? The Roswell Guidance Department has partnered with The Princeton Review, a national leader in test preparation, to offer the Princeton Review Assessment (PRA). The PRA is a test designed to help students determine if they would score higher on the SAT or ACT. All students receive a detailed score report outlining their strengths and weakness on the SAT and ACT. The PRA will be offered Saturday September 25th, from 9 – 1:15 for $20. For registration information please visit roswellguidance.wordpress.com.

The Roswell High School Literary Magazine is now accepting creative work by students to be included in our fall issue. Bring your original stories, photographs, nonfiction, artwork, and poems to D105.The deadline for submissions is October 1.

SENIORS: Remember that your Senior Superlative Packets are due today in D111.

Club Fair will be held today during your lunch period on the track in the gym. This is a great opportunity to get information on all the clubs that are offered.


SPORTS

Congrats to the JV and 9th grade football teams with wins over Milton last night. The 9th grade team won 20 – 6 and the JV team 3 – 0.

There is a meeting for all Girls interested in playing soccer for RHS this year on Thursday, September 9th at 7pm in the cafeteria. You and a parent or guardian need to attend this meeting. For more information, see Coach Boyd in PRT 10.

There will be a Boys Soccer meeting for those interested in playing soccer this spring at 8:15 am Tuesday morning the 7th in the Media Center. All returning players and interested players need to attend.

The Roswell Varsity Football will be playing Peachtree Ridge tonight at 7:30pm. If you are unable to attend the game you can watch it live on WSB-TV’s affiliated digital channels Comcast 248 and Charter 127.

The Roswell girls’ and boys’ cross country team is still allowing freshmen, sophomore, and new student runners to join the team through this week. Please come by room F128 and see Coach Evans for information.

School pictures will be taken on August 31st, September 1st and September 2nd during English classes. Forms have been handed out in your English Class.

Attention Students interested in drama. There is an important International Thespian society meeting for all current and any hopeful members Thursday, September 2, from 4 – 5pm in A102. This meeting is open to all interested students. Information about induction of September 9th and information about Thespian conference will be shared. Mark your calendar and plan to attend.

The Roswell Ultimate Frisbee Club will be playing after school on Wednesday again this year. Please come out to the band practice field in front of the school today after school.

ALL Wrestlers and anyone interested in wrestling this season need to be at a mandatory informational meeting tomorrow morning at 7:45 I PE 07. Mark your calendars so that you don’t miss!!! See Coach Goff in F117 if you can’t make the meeting or miss because of Football workouts.

All Girls interested in playing soccer this year need to attend a mandatory meeting in Coach Boyd’s room, PRT 10 at 8:15 am on Wednesday September 1.
The USTA Club Tennis team will be meeting Monday evening the 30th at 6pm in PRT 4 for all players and parents participating. If you intended to play you must be present to sign up.
