Just a reminder – All cell phones must BE OFF and NOT VISIBLE during the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:40 p.m. Students use of cell phones during this time will result in Saturday School.
Registration for TAG classes will begin next Tuesday September 14th. Registration will be open Tuesday the 14th through Thursday the 16th. TAG students should come during their lunch period to get registration information in Room B107. Please remember that students earning TAG credit through AP classes still need to register each semester.
Drama Club is almost here! The first meeting will be held Tuesday, September 14, from 4 – 5 pm in the auditorium.
Football tickets for our HOME football game will be sold during all lunches today. Tickets are $5 for students and $7 for adults. All tickets are $7 at the gate. Tickets are sold in the cafeteria for all home games.
Thursday, September 16th the Roswell Guidance Department will host a Jr/Sr Parent Night. Representatives from colleges, Princeton Review and the Georgia Student Finance Commission (GSFC), will provide information on college admission testing, college planning resources, and the college application process. The program starts at 6:30, but please begin arriving by 6:15 for material dissemination and an opportunity to speak with our guest presenters.
The first meeting of the Spanish Club will be Tuesday September 14 at 8:00 in F115.
The Academic Bowl team will be having a practice after school today in F105.
Attention Juniors and Seniors: Several colleges have scheduled visits to Roswell this semester. These visits are a great opportunity for interested students to learn more about prospective colleges.
• Representatives from over 15 colleges will be at Roswell next week. Juniors and Seniors interested in learning more about these schools should sign up in the Guidance Office. Students must sign up at least 2 day in advance of a college visiting in order to attend.
• You will receive a pass the day of the visit.

Mock Trial will hold an organizational meeting for returning team members only, on Friday, September 17 at 8:00am in Room F114. Donuts will be served.
The Muslim Students Association will hold its first meeting on Wednesday, September 15 after school at 3:50 pm in Room F114. New members are welcome and encouraged to join. Returning members should also attend. Please be on time.
The RHS Young Adult Club will have its first meeting on Thursday afternoon at 3:55 in D110. If you signed up at the club fair or you’re curious, plan on attending. We’ll be discussing our reading selections for the year and introducing officers.
Students! Vote for your favorite spiritwear designs. There will be a poster and voting box in the cafeteria during all lunches. Vote for your favorite design for tee shirts and hoodies.
Attention Seniors: Senior Ad forms have been mailed. If you need another form, you may pick up an extra in the front office. Please also note that the “Early Bird” deadline has been extended until today September 9th.

The Step Team is holding try-outs next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday afternoon in Room G111 beginning at 3:45. Make sure to wear sneakers or you may not try out.
Any student who is interested in working with the football teams as a student trainer or manager needs to see Ms. Williams in the front office.
The Roswell High Chapter of the National Math Honors Society will hold its first meeting this Thursday, September 17, at 7:30 am in Room G108. To be eligible, you must have completed Math 1. You also must be in an honors math class, and have an overall high school math average of 85. All interested parties are welcome and should see Mr. O’Dell with questions.
The Roswell Dance Team will be holding tryouts for the 2010 – 2011 season over the next two weeks. If you are interested in becoming a member of the team, please see Ms. Schumann in G112 for more information.
Junior Class Ring make up orders will be taken on September 15 during all lunches and at the Junior/Senior Parent meeting on September 16th.
The school is looking for announcers for the new season of Hornet football. Games are broadcast over Roswell cable, and also streamed live on the internet to the world. Auditions will be held next Tuesday after school in Room AA21. If you have questions see Mr. Scott in AA21.
School picture retakes will be October 14th. This will also be the last call for seniors that have not had their senior picture made by Studio 7 and would like to be in the yearbook. If you would like to have your Senior Portrait taken you need to contact Studio 7 at 770-685-7391.
Our Open House for parents will be held September 27th at 6:30 pm. This is a great opportunity for parents to follow your student’s schedule and spend time in their class with the teacher.
Not sure if you should take the SAT or ACT? The Roswell Guidance Department has partnered with The Princeton Review, a national leader in test preparation, to offer the Princeton Review Assessment (PRA). The PRA is a test designed to help students determine if they would score higher on the SAT or ACT. All students receive a detailed score report outlining their strengths and weakness on the SAT and ACT. The PRA will be offered Saturday September 25th, from 9 – 1:15 for $20. The Roswell High School Literary Magazine is now accepting creative work by students to be included in our fall issue. Bring your original stories, photographs, nonfiction, artwork, and poems to D105.The deadline for submissions is October 1.
SPORTS
Congratulations to the JV football team. They defeated Centennial in a thrilling come from being victory last night with a score of 22 – 13.
The 9th grade football team defeated Centennial 28 – 7.
Congratulations to Coach Barker and the Roswell Varsity Football team for being selected for the GHSA Network on Charter Game of the Week. The Hornets will be taking on the Norcross Blue Devils at our home stadium; kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm. If you can’t make it out Friday night, then tune in to Charter on demand Channel 1 next Tuesday to watch a full replay of the game.
Girls Basketball workouts for those girls not participating in a fall sport at RHS are taking place on Mondays and Thursdays immediately after school. See Coach Broadwell in F122 if you have questions.
Anyone interested in trying out for basketball cheerleading must turn in their tryout packets and applications by this afternoon at 4:00. Packets should be turned in to Coach Smock in E122 or to the main office. Tryouts will be held next week beginning on Monday.
